Tragic Fall Claims Life of Young Dental Student in Delhi

Incident Shocks Sangam Vihar Community

INDIA: A tragic incident unfolded in the Sangam Vihar area of South Delhi on Saturday, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old dental student. According to a report published on https://www.latestly.com/, the young woman fell from the fifth floor of a residential building, prompting an immediate police investigation.

Circumstances Surrounding the Fall

The incident occurred in the afternoon when the student, who resided in a different building within the same residential complex, visited the fifth floor of her former residence. Police officials reported that CCTV footage captured the victim alone on the fifth floor of the six-storey building shortly before the fall.

A police officer involved in the case stated, “No suicide note was recovered from her but a CCTV footage was found in which she was seen standing on the fifth floor of the six storey building alone.”

Recent Relocation Adds to Mystery

Adding a layer of complexity to the case, it was revealed that the student’s family had moved from the building where the incident took place approximately six months ago. They had relocated to another house within the same locality.

“Today, she came alone to her vacant old house and fell off the balcony,” the officer explained, highlighting the unusual circumstances of her presence in the building.

Community Response

The incident has left the local community in shock. Bablu Verma, a resident of the building where the fall occurred, expressed the collective bewilderment, saying, “Her family had shifted to another house but nobody knows why she came here in the afternoon.”

Medical Response and Aftermath

Following the fall, the young woman, a first-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) student, was rushed to Batra Hospital. She was subsequently transferred to Majeedia Hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities are treating the case with utmost seriousness. The police have reported that a crime team has inspected the site of the incident. The victim’s body has been moved to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which is expected to provide crucial insights into the circumstances of her death.

“Further investigation is underway,” the police stated, indicating that they are exploring all possible angles to understand the events leading up to this tragic incident.

As the community grapples with this shocking event, questions remain about what led the young dental student to her former residence on that fateful afternoon. The ongoing investigation aims to provide answers and closure to both the family and the community affected by this untimely loss.
