Vatech MCIS Launches Smart X Dental CT

South Korea: Vatech MCIS, an integrated dental solution company, has launched a new dental CT product called Smart X. The company hopes that Smart X will become a new standard for dental CT.

According to Vatech MCIS, Smart X boasts a high-resolution imaging technology that shows even complicated root canals with clarity, providing dentists with the confidence to treat patients effectively. The device adopts 0.05mm voxel size, which is expected to provide more dentists with excellent image quality.

Smart Focus Function

One of the most significant strengths of Smart X is its newly introduced ‘Smart Focus’ function, which is not available in existing CT equipment. The ‘Smart Focus’ function reportedly allows for the acquisition of up to five images with one shot, including one 12×8.5 CT image that examines the entire tooth, three 4×4 CT images with high resolution of 0.07 voxel size that can check details for each part, and a panorama image.

This technology is intended to reduce the inconvenience of taking multiple images of each lesion, providing reportedly accurate and high-resolution images for in-depth diagnosis of multiple parts.

Fast Scan & AI Auto Tracing

The ‘Fast Scan & AI Auto Tracing’ function is another significant strength of Smart X, making orthodontic treatment easy, says Vatech MCIS. This function includes ‘Fast Scan,’ which according to a press release captures cephalometry images in just 1.9 seconds, and ‘EzOrtho,’ an AI automatic analysis software certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety that creates 61 measurement points and seven baselines required for calibration diagnosis within 20 seconds. These features help to reduce the operator’s hassle and are expected to increase the patient’s consent rate.

Young-tak Koh, CEO of Vatech MCIS, said, “It is a new standard presented by Vatech MCIS, which has set standards for dental diagnostic equipment for 20 years.”
