Vhf camfacture AG has introduced a new milling machine for wet and dry machining of blocks that will make it easier and more cost-effective for dental practices to fabricate in-house restorations.
The E4, part of the new EASE Class from vhf, was launched at the CDS Midwinter Meeting in Chicago on February 23, 2023. The machine offers maximum freedom to users, who can combine it with their preferred intraoral scanner and materials suitable for their patients’ cases.
Simplicity and Diversity in Material and Indication
The E4 was developed with simplicity in mind, allowing every dentist to enter same-day dentistry with any intraoral scanner and the E4 in the shortest time possible.
The machine does not require compressed air, weighs only 28 kg, and has a compact housing that takes up slightly more floor space than an A3 sheet of paper. It is operated intuitively via the provided DENTALCAM software, without any additional licensing costs.
The E4 is equipped to wet grind blocks made of glass ceramics or composites with ceramic content, and thanks to PUREWATER Technology, no grinding additives are required, reducing disposal costs.
The range of indications can be significantly expanded by using an optional dry tank instead of the liquid tank. In this way, materials such as zirconia, PMMA, and other composites can also be dry milled. The machine can process blocks up to 45 mm in length.
Innovation in Dry Milling and Sustainability
The E4 operates completely without compressed air, neither requiring an external connection nor a built-in compressor, which is made possible by vhf’s patent-pending AIRTOOL.
The turbine blades of this tool generate a strong air flow due to the high speeds of the high-frequency spindle, keeping the workpiece free of chips and dust. This is not only a sustainability aspect of the E4 but also saves further costs and allows greater freedom in the placement of the machine.
Dr Nicolas Rohde, Chief Strategy Officer at vhf camfacture AG, emphasizes the reliability and precision of the E4, built entirely without compromise from high-quality industrial components. The machine, he says, enables dentists to produce lab-quality dental restorations in their own practice.
World Premiere and Further Information
The world premiere of the E4 took place at the CDS Midwinter Meeting in Chicago and can be seen from February 24 at the LMT Lab Day in Chicago and from March 14 at the IDS in Cologne. Dentists can find more information about the E4 on the dedicated microsite at ease.vhf.com/e4.
