VideaHealth receives US patent for dental AI technology

VideaHealth, an artificial intelligence platform, has received recognition from the United States Patent and Trademark Office in the form of a patent for its dental image recognition technology. The patent, numbered 11,553,874, covers the detection of dental features through machine learning, allowing dentists to identify potential issues and match the results to relevant patient records.

Accurate x-ray analysis

Their AI facility, which relies on a wealth of information gathered from numerous patient records, has been developed to produce highly precise models, according to VideaHealth. The data, reviewed and labeled by dental professionals, is fed into the AI factory, allowing for the identification and measurement of clinical markers on dental x-rays.

“When I was still a researcher, I saw how impactful AI was becoming for everything from customer service applications to financial market use cases and to healthcare. It was then that I realized how powerful AI insights could be in dentistry when applied to X-ray analysis,” said Florian Hillen, CEO and founder of VideaHealth.

“AI-powered X-ray analysis serves as a data-driven assistant to dentists, bringing a higher level of confidence to both dentists and patients.

Growing audience

According to the company’s statement, practitioners who utilize this AI technology have reported an increase in case acceptance rates. In efforts to bring the technology to a wider audience, VideaHealth is collaborating with organizations such as Henry Schein One and dental support groups like 42 North. The team at VideaHealth provides support for change management processes to aid in the full implementation of their diagnostic dental AI and achieve optimal patient outcomes and growth for practices.
