W&H Unveils Lexa Mini Dental Sterilization Technology

W&H has announced the launch of its latest sterilization innovation, the Lexa Mini, aimed exclusively at dental practices in the United States and Canada. This new Class B rapid sterilizer is designed to address the needs of busy dental practices, combining cutting-edge technology with enhanced efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Rick Pinero, General Manager of the Dental Equipment Business Unit at W&H, remarked, “We’re excited to introduce the Lexa Mini as part of our ongoing efforts to transform and innovate the sterilization market.” The company emphasizes that the Lexa Mini offers many of the same advanced features found in its award-winning full-size Lexa models, but in a more compact form to better suit the modern dental practice.

Cutting-Edge Technology for a Cleaner, Safer Practice

The Lexa Mini utilizes state-of-the-art sterilization technology that prioritizes both patient safety and user convenience. It integrates fresh water for every cycle and a closed-door drying system, ensuring sterile and dry loads every time. According to W&H, these features are crucial in preventing cross-contamination, a growing concern in dental practices.

“Our Lexa models feature state-of-the-art technology that uses fresh water for every cycle and the essential closed-door drying, ensuring every load is completely dry and ready to use,” said Pinero. He added that these key features help differentiate W&H in an increasingly competitive market focused on infection prevention.

Efficiency at the Heart of Lexa Mini

Efficiency is a key selling point for the Lexa Mini, which is capable of completing sterilization cycles in as little as 23 minutes, including drying time. The company highlights that this rapid turnaround time can significantly enhance the workflow of a dental practice, allowing for quicker patient service and less downtime between procedures.

With its streamlined design, the Lexa Mini integrates seamlessly into existing sterilization areas. The device’s auto-fill and auto-drain features also add convenience, reducing the need for manual intervention. “Auto fill ensures fresh water delivery for every cycle, every time, while auto drain eliminates the need for staff to empty dirty water bottles,” W&H stated.

Advanced Traceability with EliTrace System

One of the standout features of the Lexa Mini is its EliTrace system, which provides enhanced traceability for dental practices. The advanced documentation system offers full traceability down to a single instrument, ensuring that every sterilization cycle is fully documented and stored on a USB stick for easy access. This level of traceability offers an added layer of safety and compliance for dental practices, which is becoming increasingly vital in the healthcare sector.

Versatility for Diverse Practice Needs

The Lexa Mini is designed to meet the diverse needs of various dental practices, offering flexibility in its sterilization cycles. It supports a range of load types, including wrapped, unwrapped, cassette, and low-temperature loads. The sterilizer is available in both 5-liter and 3-liter models and includes options for a vacuum pump or air ejector, catering to different setups and practice requirements.

W&H noted that the sterilizer can be used as a primary device for rapid handpiece sterilization or as a reliable backup to larger tabletop sterilizers. Its compact size allows it to fit comfortably within the limited space of many modern dental offices.

A Commitment to Innovation and Patient Safety

W&H has built a strong reputation for its focus on advancing medical technology, particularly in the dental sector. The launch of the Lexa Mini reflects the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, reliable products that enhance patient safety and improve practice efficiency.

W&H Impex, Inc., based in Ontario, Canada, is a subsidiary of the international W&H Group headquartered in Bürmoos, Austria. The company is recognized globally for its innovation and high-quality medical technology solutions. With a workforce of over 1,300 employees, W&H develops products used across dental, medical, and veterinary industries.

The Lexa Mini represents the latest chapter in W&H’s ongoing mission to lead the market with innovative, practical solutions. As Pinero stated, “These important features are becoming increasingly crucial for infection prevention and are what truly differentiate us in the market.”
