Woman in Hyderabad Suffers Lip Mutilation and Harassment Allegedly Due to Dental Negligence

INDIA: A woman from Hyderabad has come forward with allegations of severe medical negligence by a dentist, resulting in the mutilation of her lip and immense physical and mental anguish.

The incident, which occurred last year, has recently surfaced following another case of medical negligence at the same hospital, which reportedly led to a patient’s demise.

Allegations of Negligence

The incident unfolded at FMS Hospital in Jubilee Hills, where the woman underwent a dental procedure. According to reports, a friend of the victim recounted the horrifying experience, stating that the dentist accidentally “chopped off” her lip during the treatment, leaving her with significant disfigurement.

Despite the passage of over a year since the incident, the victim continues to grapple with both physical and psychological trauma. She bears visible scars and struggles with limited lip movement, hindering her ability to laugh or smile freely. Additionally, ongoing medical treatment, including the use of steroids and the prospect of further surgeries, underscores the enduring impact of the negligence she endured.

Allegations of Harassment

In a scathing Google review of the hospital, the victim’s mother detailed the harrowing ordeal her daughter endured. She accused the hospital staff of mutilating her daughter’s mouth during a tooth extraction procedure and subsequently failing to provide adequate assistance for her recovery. Furthermore, she alleged that hospital personnel, including the in-charge, subjected her daughter and family to harassment, mocking, and humiliation, exacerbating their anguish and trauma.

The incident has sparked outrage and calls for accountability, with many demanding thorough investigations into the alleged negligence and mistreatment at FMS Hospital. The victim and her family seek justice and restitution for the physical and emotional distress inflicted upon her, highlighting the critical need for stringent measures to prevent such instances of medical malpractice in the future.
