India: A postgraduate student from Saveetha Dental College has set a new world record in the field of dentistry.
Divij Khullar, a third-year prosthodontics postgraduate student from Chennai, India, has achieved a world record under the title of “World’s First Postgraduate Student to Complete Maximum No. 45 of Full Mouth Rehabilitations During the Course of Post-Graduation.” Khullar cemented a record-breaking 1149 crowns in 45 patients, making this a remarkable achievement in the field of dentistry.
45 Full Mouth Rehabilitations
A full mouth rehabilitation involves restoring all the teeth in the mouth to enhance both aesthetics and function. It is an elaborate procedure that typically involves 14 appointments and multiple laboratory technicians. The fact that Khullar was able to complete 45 full mouth rehabilitation cases during his post-graduation is a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication, especially considering that 90% of postgraduate students in India do not complete even one such case.
Khullar’s full-mouth rehabilitation cases included a variety of tooth-supported, tooth and tissue-supported, full mouth implant-supported, and tooth and implant-supported cases. These complex procedures require a high degree of technical skill and expertise, making Khullar’s achievement even more impressive. The record-breaking feat was verified by the judiciary of India Book of World Records.
A Source of Pride and Inspiration
The Director of Academics of Saveetha University, Dr Deepak Nallaswamy, stated, “We are proud of Divij’s achievement and the recognition it brings to our institution.” The Dean of Saveetha Dental College, Dr S Aravind Kumar, added that “Dr Khullar’s achievement is a source of pride for the entire Saveetha Dental College community and the Indian Dental Community at large.”
Dr Khullar’s achievement will inspire future generations of dental students to strive for excellence in their field. The India Book of World Records serves as a testament to the remarkable achievements of individuals across India and provides inspiration and encouragement for others to follow in their footsteps.
