ZimVie Dental has announced the launch of two new biomaterials to its portfolio of dental bone grafts, including the RegenerOss CC Allograft particulate and the RegenerOss Bone Graft Plug.
About the RegenerOss CC Allograft
The RegenerOss CC Allograft particulate is a combination of cortical and cancellous bone particles that can be used to fill bony voids in a range of dental applications. The graft is sterilized and freeze-dried using ZimVie’s proprietary Cancelle SP technique.
Common sites for allograft tissue use include extraction socket preservation, ridge augmentation and reconstruction, peri-implant defects, and sinus floor elevation.
About the RegenerOss Bone Graft Plug
The RegenerOss Bone Graft Plug is a solution designed for filling extraction sockets and periodontal defects, as its plug-shaped form mimics the shape of extraction sockets for easy placement. The RegenerOss Bone Graft Plug is a particularly easy-to-use grafting solution, says ZimVie, as its plug-shaped form mimics the shape of extraction sockets for easy placement. Additionally, the plug can be placed dry and takes the shape of the defect once hydrated, and the collagen holds the graft particles in place within the defect site.
Its high mineral content combines 80% carbonate apatite granules with 20% Type I collagen from bovine Achilles tendon, meaning it can be used as an alternative for patients who do not have adequate autogenous bone. Moreover, according to ZimVie, implants can typically be placed six months post-grafting in extraction sockets, and the graft is fully resorbed in 9-12 months, leaving behind newly formed bone tissue.
Other Bone Graft Offerings from ZimVie
ZimVie’s bone graft offerings also include the Puros Allograft line, and the launch of these new products is expected to expand the company’s presence in the dental biomaterials market.
Indraneel Kanaglekar, SVP and president of ZimVie Dental, said in a news release, “Our RegenerOss solutions provide greater options to customers and patients, and nicely complement our existing offering of clinically successful bone grafts.”
Dental bone graft procedures are used to repair or reconstruct the jawbone, providing a foundation for dental implant placement. With the launch of these new products, ZimVie aims to provide more options to its customers and patients. These biomaterials are part of ZimVie’s strategy to offer a comprehensive range of solutions for dental professionals and their patients.
