India: Colgate-Palmolive India, an oral care company, partnered with the Indian Dental Association (IDA) to host the Oral Health Innovation Conclave in New Delhi, India. The conference, the first of its kind, aimed to establish a specialized research ecosystem for dental evolution and communication, highlighting innovations, entrepreneurship, and research.
Colgate-Palmolive India has a long-standing commitment to promoting oral health and hygiene in India, playing a key role in supporting and driving the event’s agenda as the principal partner.

Arginine-Containing Toothpaste
India faces major oral health issues, with demineralized teeth leading to cavities and other dental problems. However, teeth have a natural defense mechanism called remineralization, which can be positively enhanced by nourishing with toothpastes containing scientifically proven ingredients.
At the conclave, Colgate-Palmolive introduced participants to the benefits of an amino acid called Arginine, which has reportedly been found to be particularly effective in preventing dental caries or cavities and promoting remineralization. Studies have shown that arginine-containing toothpastes drastically reduce the number of cavities in children compared to regular fluoride toothpastes.
Technological Advancements and Promoting Oral Hygiene
Over 2000 attendees, including dental professionals, researchers, and policymakers, attended the conference. Topics of discussion included advancements in dental technology, the latest research in oral care, and strategies for promoting oral hygiene in underserved communities. Participants also had an opportunity to learn about different aspects of oral care and try out new products offered by Colgate-Palmolive, including the Anti-Cavity Hub, Innovation Hub, Gum Care Booth, Sampling Zone, and the Whitening Hub.
