ZuluArtificial intelligence (AI) company, Pearl, has teamed up with dental equipment manufacturer, Planmeca, to integrate Pearl’s Second Opinion disease detection platform with Planmeca’s imaging software, Planmeca Romexis. The collaboration aims to streamline clinical efficiencies, enhance diagnostic capabilities, and steer the dentistry industry towards a fully AI-powered future.
Identifying Common Oral Conditions
According to the press release from Pearl, Second Opinion is the first AI software to obtain clearances that help dentists identify common oral conditions in bitewing, periapical, and panoramic x-rays of adult teeth in patients as young as 12 years old. Planmeca users will be able to leverage Pearl’s AI technology to evaluate x-ray images within the Romexis platform, which will reportedly streamline patient communication and diagnosis.
