Thailand: The Department of Medical Services reported that anaesthetic medication administered for dental work has no effect on Covid-19 vaccine recipients.
The Department further clarified that no patients who received the anaesthetic injection and vaccine had reported symptoms of a stroke in the brain and heart and were being admitted to the Institute of Neurology, as claimed by unverified news circulating online.
The Institute of Neurology is a state specialized hospital for brain and spinal cord diseases. If there are suspected complications from the vaccine and symptoms involving the brain and spinal cord, the Institute of Neuroscience has a direct responsibility to investigate the facts.
Patients who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, the report states, are therefore able to receive dental procedures using dental anaesthetics safely. Dental anaesthetics has no effect on the immune system and there is no interaction between dental anesthetics and vaccines, says the healthcare department.
