Dentsply Sirona Introduces Primeprint Model C 3D Printing Material

Dentsply Sirona has introduced Primeprint Model C, a new 3D printing material that enables dental professionals to complete both printing and post-processing within a single hour. This material advancement addresses key efficiency needs in dental practices and laboratories, supporting various applications including thermoforming and working models.

The development of Primeprint Model C reflects a focus on workplace safety in dental settings. The material composition excludes several potentially concerning chemicals, including BPA, MMA, THF-MA, and TPO. This formulation choice aims to minimize risks associated with uncured materials in dental 3D printing environments.

Digital Workflow Integration

The material integrates with Dentsply Sirona’s comprehensive digital workflow system. Practitioners can initiate the process using various scanning options, including Primescan, Primescan 2, or third-party scanners. The system offers flexibility in design approaches, allowing professionals to either create their own appliances through CEREC or inLab CAD Software or collaborate with external dental laboratories.

The latest version of inLab CAM software, connected with DS Core, introduces centralized manufacturing capabilities. Max Milz, Group Vice President Connected Technology Solutions at Dentsply Sirona, emphasized the material’s benefits, stating: “With Primeprint Model C, we are raising the bar for 3D printing materials, offering a combination of speed, safety, and versatility that benefits both dental professionals and their patients.”

Streamlined Production Process

A notable feature of the Primeprint Model C system is its efficiency in terms of operator involvement. The process requires less than 30 seconds of active working time during the printing and post-processing phases, allowing dental professionals to focus on other aspects of patient care while manufacturing is underway.

The availability of Primeprint Model C varies by region due to different approval and registration requirements across jurisdictions. Manufacturing times may vary depending on specific setups and print job requirements.
