Gwangju branch urges establishment of National Dental Research Institute

South Korea: At the 33rd general meeting of delegates held on March 28th, the Gwangju branch held a resolution meeting to establish the National Dental Research Institute.

The meeting was attended by about 130 people, including the mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, members of the Democratic Party, the Justice Party, and the National Assembly, as well as heads and directors of dental hospitals and centres.

Push to Establish Research Institute

During the meeting, the participants decided to urge the establishment of the National Dental Research Institute and make joint efforts to develop the dental industry in Gwangju. They proposed the slogan, ‘Immediately establish the National Dental Research Institute for the development of dental research and dental industry as a new growth engine for the nation!’

Mayor Kang Ki-jeong expressed his support for the establishment of the National Dental Research Institute. He stated that the establishment of the institute has been a long-cherished wish of the Gwangju branch.

Representative Lee Hyeong-seok and Assemblyman Lee Yong-bin also expressed their support for the institute and pledged to do their best to pass the bill and attract Gwangju for the future of the city.

Enhance Korea’s Competitiveness in Global Dental Industry

Head of the Gwangju branch, Hyung Min-woo emphasized the importance of the establishment of the National Dental Research Institute in response to the increase in oral diseases due to population aging and the rapid increase in demand for dental treatment.

He stated that the institute is necessary to improve the quality of dental care services and conduct systematic research to gain competitiveness in the dental medical industry market around the world.

The resolution meeting is expected to provide an impetus to accelerate the attraction of researchers to the National Dental Research Institute in Gwangju.
