Health Ministry Offers Free Dental Check-ups at Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme

MALAYSIA: In collaboration with the Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium grounds, the Malaysian Health Ministry (MOH) is providing complimentary dental check-ups, including scaling and tooth fillings. The initiative aims to promote oral health awareness and accessibility to dental care.

Mobile Dental Clinic Procedures

Dr Nor Azmina Ahmad Roslan, a dental officer at Seremban Health Clinic, outlined the procedures for visitors at the mobile dental clinic. Interested individuals need to register at the counter and undergo a brief dental examination. For those requiring scaling or fillings, the necessary procedures will be performed. The MOH’s target is to provide check-ups for 100 individuals daily throughout the program.

In addition to the dental services, the MOH is organizing a blood donation campaign and health screenings as part of the Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme. The holistic approach to healthcare encompasses various aspects of well-being.

Expert Advice on Proper Dental Care

Dr Nor Azmina offered advice to the public on maintaining good oral health. She cautioned against vigorously brushing teeth with hard-bristled toothbrushes, emphasizing the importance of using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste for approximately two minutes per session. Using a mirror during brushing ensures all tooth surfaces are reached.

Despite increased awareness, some individuals still overlook dental care. Dr Nor Azmina advised the public to undergo dental check-ups every six months or at least once a year to address potential issues promptly.

A visitor, Abdul Rahman Omar, shared his positive experience, emphasizing the quick and efficient process at the mobile clinic. Such testimonials reflect the success of initiatives aimed at promoting dental health.

The three-day Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme runs from 9 am to 10 pm daily and focuses on three components: the achievement showcase, the people’s touchpoint service, and the People’s Well-being Initiatives. The dental check-ups contribute to the broader goal of enhancing public well-being.
