JPA Approves Reserve Candidates for Medical, Dental, and Pharmacy Officer Roles

Health Ministry’s Request Leads to the Approval of 1,912 Candidates

MALAYSIA: The Public Services Department (JPA) has given the green light to appoint 1,912 reserve candidates to serve as medical, dental, and pharmacy officers, addressing vacancies in permanent positions. The decision follows a request from the Health Ministry on September 25 and 26.

The approval encompasses 1,226 reserve candidates for medical officer roles, 216 for dental officer positions, and 470 for pharmacy officers. These appointments align with the available vacancy balance and approval for permanent placements in 2023, as stated by the Health Ministry.

Transparent Appointment Process

To ensure transparency in the implementation of these appointments, the Health Ministry explained that candidates are given the opportunity to select their placements online through various systems. Medical officers can use the e-placement or e-houseman system, dental officers utilise the e-dentist system, and pharmacists use the e-pharmacist system.

Encouraging Placements Beyond Klang Valley

The statement from the Health Ministry acknowledges that vacancies in the Klang Valley and Federal Territory are limited. As a result, it encourages candidates to consider placements outside of these areas, including rural regions of the peninsula, Sabah, and Sarawak. Such placements not only provide a different working experience but also reduce the cost of living for the appointed officers.

The candidates have been requested to check the placement dates through their registered personal email on the SPA9 portal during the application process and make the necessary arrangements accordingly. This initiative is set to address essential medical, dental, and pharmacy staffing needs, contributing to the healthcare system’s overall functionality.
