MicroCare Medical Unveils ProEZ Gel Pre-Treatment Spray for Dental Instruments

MicroCare Medical Infection Prevention is set to showcase its latest innovation, the ProEZ Gel™ Pre-Treatment Spray, at the RDH Under One Roof Conference, taking place in Nashville, TN from July 20-22, 2023. This pre-treatment spray for dental instruments aims to address the issue of soil drying during extended holding times or when instruments are transferred to sterile processing.

Enhanced Coverage and Reduced Waste

The ProEZ Gel Spray reportedly offers a wider spray pattern compared to other pre-treatment gels available in the market, covering over two and a half times more area. This broader coverage allows for more uniform application, reducing the need for frequent reapplication and resulting in over 50% less product waste, says the manufacturer. Moreover, the wider spray pattern alleviates the requirement for precise handling to ensure complete coverage and moisture retention.

According to MicroCare Medical, one of the key features of the ProEZ Gel Spray is its unique bio-generated enzymatic action formula. This formula is said to be powerful enough to handle various types of soil encountered during dental procedures, effectively reducing the need for manual hand scrubbing. 

The spray gel leaves no sticky residue while retaining moisture, making rinsing easier and requiring fewer applications. Additionally, the product’s testing reportedly demonstrated its ability to prevent the deposition of 93% of organic protein soil over a 72-hour period. Its fragrance-free formula contributes to a more pleasant user experience.

The ProEZ Gel Spray expands the ProEZ family of surgical instrument pre-treatment products, specially designed to enhance productivity and protect valuable instrumentation against corrosion. Rigorous clinical tests conducted at the MicroCare Medical Critical Cleaning Lab confirmed the performance of the product. Test results indicated complete wetting action and up to 45% greater soil removal after a 72-hour holding time.

Environmentally Sustainable Packaging  

The ProEZ Gel Spray incorporates an internal bag-on-valve dispenser, ensuring the complete dispensation of 100% of the product. This dispenser design allows for easy recycling or disposal of the empty steel can, following local laws and regulations. 

Designed for use in point-of-use treatment areas, the ProEZ Gel Spray can be used in various healthcare settings, including in-patient surgical suites, emergency departments, labor and delivery rooms, outpatient surgery centers, dental clinics, and veterinary offices. It is also suitable for central sterile instrument re-processing areas, particularly for pre-treatment of heavy residual soils or when high case-loads result in cleaning delays.
