PAGD boosts China’s digital healthcare

Shanghai: As China comes to grips with the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic, no thanks to the emergence of new variants, the country’s digital health services platform have stepped up their services to help limit the spread of the epidemic.

Ping An Good Doctor (PAGD) is one of the leading digital healthcare platforms that have taken the fight to COVID-19 in the online space.

The company’s motto of providing users with an “easier, faster and more affordable” digital healthcare experience has resonated with a sizeable segment of the world’s most populous nation.

Last year alone, Ping An Good Doctor facilitated more than 1.27 billion consultations, helping to drastically reduce group gatherings and social contact – and of course, did its part to ease the stress from the medical ecosystem.

China’s digital health market would reach RMB1.5 trillion by 2025, attributing it to growing acceptance of online healthcare services, according to projections by consultancy firm Frost & Sullivan. Indicative of this potential growth, Ping An Good Doctor increased its paying customer base by six million over the previous year

Said Fang Weihao, Chairman and CEO of Ping An Good Doctor: “Ping An Good Doctor provided the building blocks for its endeavors to satisfy everyone’s medical and health needs, alleviate the pressure on social medical and health resources, and support the ‘Healthy China 2030’ Initiative,”

Presently, the company’s portfolio includes partnerships with more than 3,600 hospitals and covers over 48,000 in-house and external doctors.

The healthcare giant is focused on a three-pronged objective encapsulated by its Strategy 2.0 Continuum.

Improve service offerings for different types of payers, including individual customers, corporate clients and corporate employees;

Provide upgraded service experience to individual customers as well as deliver specialty service packages and membership products to paying customers;

Individual customers now receive with paying members getting specialty service packages and membership products.

Accelerate service coverage among customer base of member companies within the Ping An Group ecosystem.

Further, Ping An Good Doctor operates a one-stop corporate employee health management platform to help address prevalent challenges among its corporate clientele: healthcare recruitment woes; poor user experience; dearth of medical and health management systems, and shortage of resources.

With the strategy in place, the platform is targeting to reach a potential market of 310 million corporate employees.

Over the last 10 years, the online phenomenon has built a comprehensive online-to-offline (O2O) medical services network.

In addition to partnering hospitals, PAGD also has 202,000 pharmacies and more than 96,000 health check-up providers in its healthcare folio – more than 1.9 million check-ups have been over the platform. It has 225 dedicated warehouses to ensure one-hour drug delivery in 140 cities.

PAGD users can also access a diverse range of offline services including dental, beauty care services, healthcare products and even door-to-door nursing services.

“In 2022, Ping An Good Doctor will continue to strengthen the foundations and promote growth while maintaining stability,” Fang said.

“The Company will do its utmost to better serve its users, give back to society, and reward shareholders.”
