Provisional Results Released for MDCAT 2024

PAKISTAN: The provisional results for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 have been released by Sukkur IBA University. Vice Chancellor Asif Sheikh emphasized the importance of addressing any candidate complaints within the specified timeframe to ensure timely processing.

Complaints and Final Results

Candidates who wish to raise concerns about the provisional results can submit their complaints via email until 5:00 PM on December 17, 2024. The final results will be announced on December 18, 2024, in accordance with the orders of the Sindh High Court (SHC). “The entire process is being carried out with full transparency, in light of the court’s directives,” Sheikh stated, urging all candidates to comply with the deadline to facilitate a smooth resolution.

MDCAT Testing Services have assured that all issues raised by candidates will be addressed on merit. An email system has been activated specifically for complaints, ensuring a streamlined process for all participants. “Candidates are urged to submit their complaints within the stipulated timeframe,” said a spokesperson from MDCAT Testing Services.

Retake and Updated Schedule

Meanwhile, a retake for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT 2024) is scheduled to take place in Islamabad on December 22, as reported by ARY News, quoting sources. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has been informed about the updated schedule. Decisions regarding the roll numbers of candidates and examination centers are expected to be made next week, the sources added.

More than 30 examination centers across Islamabad will be established for the test, accommodating 17,597 candidates registered for the MDCAT 2024 retake. This marks a significant drop in the number of candidates compared to the initial registration period, where 53,105 candidates were originally registered for the test.

Sources noted that the decrease in the number of registered candidates reflects a trend seen across the country, possibly due to concerns regarding the test’s format or scheduling. “The drop in registration numbers is a reflection of the current challenges in the education sector,” commented one source familiar with the situation.

The MDCAT is a crucial test for students aspiring to pursue medical and dental education in Pakistan, determining their eligibility for admission into various institutions. The retake offers an opportunity for those who were unable to participate in the original test to secure their place in medical and dental colleges.

Next Steps

As the complaints are processed and the final results are prepared, candidates are encouraged to stay informed through official channels. The Sindh High Court’s oversight ensures that the process remains fair and transparent, aiming to uphold the integrity of the MDCAT system.

Vice Chancellor Asif Sheikh concluded by reiterating the importance of adhering to the established procedures and timelines. “This is an important test for students across the region, and it’s vital that everything is done to maintain the highest standards of fairness and integrity,” he said.
