Key Decisions in a Committee Meeting

The admission schedule was established during a committee meeting, presided over by Ali Jan Khan, the Secretary of the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department. The meeting was attended by vice-chancellors from all public sector medical universities in Punjab.

One crucial decision made in the meeting was entrusting the University of Health Sciences (UHS) with the responsibility of collecting the initial fee for private medical colleges. Students enrolling in private sector colleges will be required to submit a fee of Rs. 1 million over a three-day period, facilitated through the Bank of Punjab.

Furthermore, it was clarified that there would be no mandatory transfer for candidates joining private medical colleges. Students will have the option to retain their admission status in their initial colleges if they choose to do so.

Fee Payment and Conclusion

Once the admission process is complete, any outstanding fees will need to be paid by the candidates directly to their respective colleges.

Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan emphasised that centralised admissions to private medical colleges are intended to ensure transparency and merit-based selections. Additionally, he called for an increase in the capacity of online applications to enhance the efficiency of the online system. These measures aim to facilitate a smooth and transparent admission process for aspiring medical and dental students in Punjab.
