Stellar Performance by Delhi Government School Students in NEET-UG 2024

INDIA: Over 1,400 students from Delhi government schools have qualified for the prestigious NEET-UG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate) examination this year, as announced by Delhi Education Minister Atishi (pictured). This achievement shatters all previous records, with the number of qualified students almost two-and-a-half times higher than the 569 students who had qualified in 2020.

Addressing a press conference, Atishi expressed her delight at the success story, stating, “Breaking all previous records, 1,414 students from Delhi government schools have qualified for the NEET-UG exams.” She attributed this remarkable accomplishment to the Delhi government’s flagship project, the Dr. Br Ambedkar School of Specialised Excellence, which provides specialized training to students in different streams.

NEET-UG: Gateway to Medical Education

The Education Minister highlighted the exceptional performance of students from the Dr. Br Ambedkar School of Specialised Excellence, stating, “255 students from these schools appeared for NEET exams, and 243 qualified for it, which means 55 per cent qualified. I feel none of the schools or the coaching centers across the nation has such a success ratio.” This staggering success rate underscores the effectiveness of the specialized training provided by the Delhi government.

The NEET-UG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate) is a highly competitive examination that serves as the gateway for aspiring students to pursue undergraduate courses in medical and dental colleges across India. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam was held on May 5, 2024, with the provisional answer key released on May 29 and the final answer key on June 4.

Remarkable Achievers

This year’s NEET-UG results witnessed an extraordinary feat, with 67 students securing the coveted All India Rank 1, comprising 14 female and 53 male candidates. This achievement further underscores the incredible talent and dedication of the students who excelled in this highly competitive examination.

“Breaking all previous records, 1,414 students from Delhi government schools have qualified for the NEET-UG exams. In 2020, a total of 569 students had qualified. This year’s figure is almost two-and-a-half times higher,” remarked Atishi, highlighting the exceptional performance of Delhi government school students.
