Aspirants Call for Postponement of NEET MDS 2024 Exam

INDIA: With the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test – MDS (NEET MDS) 2024 exam scheduled for March 18, 2024, aspiring candidates have launched a campaign advocating for its postponement.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the current exam date, candidates argue that the decision to reschedule the NEET PG 2024 exam to July 7 while maintaining the NEET MDS exam in March is discriminatory.

Social Media Campaign and Legal Action

Aspiring candidates have taken to social media platforms, particularly Twitter, to voice their concerns, utilizing hashtags such as #Postponeneetmds2024toJULY. Additionally, two candidates have approached the Supreme Court, seeking a postponement of the NEET MDS exam. Dr. Ayesha Nazrin, one of the petitioners, highlighted the challenges faced by many candidates who find themselves ineligible for the exam due to cut-off eligibility criteria.

The petition emphasizes the plight of 11 petitioners deemed ineligible for the medical examination due to various reasons.

Cut-off Date and Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the NEET MDS 2024 exam stipulate that candidates completing their compulsory rotatory internship/practical training by March 31, 2024, are eligible to take the examination. However, provisional or permanent registration is required for admission.

NEET-MDS serves as the single entrance examination for admission to various MDS courses. Calls for postponing the exam until July echo concerns about aligning the schedules of NEET MDS 2024 with NEET PG Medical, providing clarity to aspirants and alleviating the current emotional burden.
